Rehabilitation of a warehouse in Loulé

This warehouse located in a semi-peripheral area of the city of Loulé was in very poor condition and its facades did not have great aesthetic value.

The aim of the project was therefore to rehabilitate the interior in order to create a residential building.

The SENTIRE project sought to enhance the building both through the change of use (to a residential building) and through the subdivision into two apartments (one T1 and one T2).

The reuse of space and the alignment of the façade by the buildings on the side allowed the creation of two floors. The South/North orientation and direct access to a very busy street with almost no sidewalk were the main challenges.

To the north, we placed the garages, which are essential in this location. To the north on the 1st floor are the bedrooms with the respective bathrooms of the T2. To the south, with more light and warmth we placed the most public spaces of the house, such as the living/dining room and kitchen, with a good-sized covered balcony.

Access to the house is via the garage and the T1 windows, which look directly onto the street, are equipped with a system of vertical metal sheets that open and close, allowing a large amount of light to be captured while still maintaining privacy.
