Apartment near Loulé Market

This 1960s apartment, located in front of the Market and next to the historic center of Loulé, in the Algarve, had recently been the victim of a huge fire in the shop downstairs and was therefore in very poor condition.

In addition to the damaged equipment, walls and floor, the layout of the apartment was no longer adjusted to current use.

Highlights, for example, for the bedroom next to the kitchen and for the exit through the back, as was common for the servants of the house at this time (the 60s of the 20th century).

The proposed project involved transforming this apartment, with very particular characteristics, into a habitable space suitable for today.

To this end, an open space was created between the kitchen and the living room, thus creating a very large openspace, taking into account the space usually available in apartments in this type of location.

A T3 was created with one of the bedrooms en suite (with a private bathroom), 1 complete bathroom and another service toilet in the entrance area. Another highlight is the existence of a lot of storage, which was achieved through large wardrobes built-ins in the bedrooms and even a closet common to the whole house.

The result is the complete transformation of an apartment that was already very compartmentalized and dated, into an amazing apartment, with very generous areas, located right in the center of Loulé.
